Prediction: Australia
According to Shastri, Australia has the’man-to-man’ advantage and is the stronger team on paper. He did, however, highlight the lack of long-format game time for both teams and stated that match fitness will be crucial.
Ricky Ponting
Prediction: Australia
Ponting has rated Australia as ‘slight favourites,’ believing that the conditions on offer will be more comparable to those found in Australia than in India. He did, however, point out that India has performed admirably in the last two Tests played in Australia.
Wasim Akram
Prediction: Australia
Akram has also backed Australia as the favorite for the WTC Final, but he believes the toss and weather conditions will be crucial.
