In a surprising turn of events during the World Test Championship final against Australia, ex-India player Harbhajan Singh unleashed a scathing criticism on Virat Kohli for his dismissal on Day 5. Kohli, known for his aggressive approach, fell victim to his impulsive shot selection once again, succumbing to Scott Boland’s deliveries pitched outside the off-stump.
The pivotal moment came when Kohli, with 49 runs to his name, couldn’t resist the temptation and played a cover drive prematurely, paying the price with his wicket. Harbhajan expressed his disappointment, emphasizing that Kohli should have exercised more patience and waited for the right opportunity.

“Virat’s critical error may prove costly for India in the WTC final. Despite our constant reminders to be patient during the first hour, he seemed in a rush,” lamented Harbhajan.
To compound India’s woes, Boland struck again in the same over, dismissing Ravindra Jadeja. With this setback, India found themselves in a precarious position, as their chances of securing victory at the Oval seemed to diminish.
