Star all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja expressed his confidence in his ability to excel as a batsman in red-ball cricket. Reflecting on his U19 days when he batted in the middle order, Jadeja revealed that he was subsequently pushed down the batting order for the Indian national team.
During the World Test Championship (WTC) final against Australia at the Oval in London, Jadeja showcased his fighting spirit by playing a crucial knock of 48 runs on Day 2. Coming to the crease when the team was struggling at 76 for 4, he displayed his determination.
In a video shared by the ICC, Jadeja stated, “I know that I have the temperament and ability to score big runs.”
Jadeja also mentioned his recent all-round performance in the Border-Gavaskar Trophy against Australia, where he scored 135 runs at an average of 27 and took 22 wickets.

“I am in good rhythm, I would say. After a five-month hiatus due to injury, I made a comeback and played four games against Australia in India. I performed well, taking wickets and scoring runs,” Jadeja shared.
He further explained how his batting position for India differed from his U19 days, saying, “During my U19 days, I used to bat at number four. However, when I made my debut, our middle order was so strong that I couldn’t secure a spot at numbers five or six. As a result, I batted at number seven or sometimes eight.”
