The WTC 2023 Final between India and Australia is just a few days away, and fans from both countries are squealing with excitement. In the final of the second edition of the World T20, India’s Rohit Sharma and Australia’s Pat Cummins will face each other. However, as the game approaches, there is much discussion about the conditions and surface of the final venue – The Oval.
The head groundsman at The Oval has now revealed what type of pitch will host the showdown between India and Australia. Lee Fortis, the groundsman’s head, has stated that the surface at the venue will be good and that there will be a bounce on it. “It’ll be a great Oval pitch.” One thing is certain: it will be bouncy. It will be springy. We can only hope (there is no rain). For a change, English summer,” Fortis said on India spinner R Ashwin’s YouTube channel.

Notably, the pitch was green on the eve of the match, but it is reported that the grass can be trimmed before the start of the game on the first day. Another subject is being discussed. This will be The Oval’s first International Test match of the month of June.
There is speculation about the game’s conditions ahead of the traditional start of English summer in July. However, Rohit Sharma dismissed those concerns, stating that County matches were already being held at the venue.

“We’ve been hearing, not much of cricket is played here in June. County season has been played here. We saw there was a game played a couple of weeks back here. It’s not like it’s the first game of the season happening on this ground. We are quite aware of what the conditions are, what is going to happen in the next five days,” said Rohit.
