World Test Championship (WTC) Final 2023 is scheduled to be played at The Oval in London from 7th June 2023. The recent pics of the stadium show a grass covering, and the visuals have caused an upheaval in emotions for the Indian fans. Fortunately, from India’s point of view, Josh Hazlewood is injured and ruled out of the WTC Final. However, Scott Boland is more than able to fulfil the spot left by Hazlewood, and the Indians would need to be wary of him as the current visuals show that the pitch will provide great assistance to the pacers with the new ball. Here in this article, we have covered everything you need to know about The Oval Stadium pitch report, average score, highest total, lowest score and more.
WTC Final 2023: The Oval Stadium Pitch Report
The Oval holds the record for the most test matches played. Even though it is a high-scoring facility, there is still much for bowlers to enjoy. Because England’s weather is constantly changing and unpredictable, it’s difficult to forecast whether the ball or the bat will prevail. In other words, the pitch benefits both bowlers and batsmen. In that case, the outcome of the coin toss is critical.
Because of the help the spinners receive in the final two days of the competition due to the dryness, the majority of teams choose to bat first. Surviving the sudden bend was difficult for the hitters. Because of the lack of a green surface, which is common in the other England stadiums, fast bowlers’ records here haven’t been very excellent.
