During the first session of the World Test Championship Final, some fans began chanting Virat Kohli’s name. However, the former captain, not wanting the focus to be solely on him, gestured for the fans to cheer for the entire Indian team.
Kohli is known for engaging with fans during matches, and on this occasion, he made it clear that the team’s support was paramount. India managed to claim a wicket in the first session, with Mohammed Siraj dismissing Usman Khawaja. David Warner and Marnus Labuschagne then stabilized Australia’s innings, taking them to 29/1 in 12 overs.

In the earlier stages of the match, Rohit Sharma won the toss and elected to field first against Pat Cummins’ Australian side. While Ravichandran Ashwin was not included in the playing XI, Ravindra Jadeja was chosen to represent India in the final.
