Sydney Thunder bowled out for just 15 runs and lost to Adelaide Strikers by 124 runs

Sydney Thunder made T20 history by crumbling to the lowest score in men’s T20 cricket against Adelaide Strikers. Paceman Henry Thornton recorded 5 wickets for 3 runs, and Wes Agar took 4 wickets for 6 runs.

Adelaide Strikers skipper Peter Wade won the toss and elected to bat first against the Sydney Thunder at the Sydney Showground Stadium.

Adelaide Strikers vs Sydney Thunder Match Highlights

In the first innings, Peter Siddle elected to bat first, which didn’t turn out to be the most advantageous decision as runs were difficult to come by and the top-order batters were having an off day. However, a stand between Chris Lynn and Colin de Grandhomme gave them some impetus but neither of them was able to stay till the death overs. Sydney Thunder bowled well and their pace battery was on a roll, limiting the Strikers to an under-par score of 139 runs with Fazalhaq Farooqi being the star.

It was a tough night for the Thunders, who were bowled out for just 15 runs while chasing a tricky target of 140. Not a single player on the team could make it past the powerplay, as they were all dismissed in just 5.5 overs. Short got his team off to a flying start with the ball, and then took an excellent first-slip catch to put his side in a strong position. Agar and Thornton were very effective, probing around the off-stump line and finding the edges regularly. Agar finished with 4 wickets and Thornton ended with a five-wicket haul as they tore through the Thunder’s batting order.
