The one-time champions Sunrisers Hyderabad had a forgettable IPL 2021 season, where they remained at the bottom of the points table. Kane Williamson now holds the reigns of the team and has the responsibility of developing a strong playing 11 for Sunrisers Hyderabad in IPL 2022

Before going into the auction, SRH decided to retain Kane Williamson, Umran Malik and Abdul Samad for their core strength. However, SRH couldn’t come on the same terms page with David Warner and Rashid Khan for their retention. Since both of them wanted to part their ways from the franchise. The franchise entered the mega auction with 68 crores left in their purse for building a brawny playing 11.

Strongest Possible Playing XI for SRH-

    1) Rahul Tripathi

Rahul Tripathi did get the opportunity of batting in the top order last season with KKR. The underrated uncapped Indian batter accumulated 397 runs for the franchise which eventually fetched him 8.5 crores deal from Sunrisers Hyderabad.  After the exit of David Warner and Jonny Bairstow from the franchise, Rahul Tripathi has big shoes to fill in.

    2) Abhishek Sharma

A 6.5crores deal for their IPL 2021 player. As conveyed by SRH management Abhishek Sharma will be opening the innings for the franchise in IPL 2022. SRH puts a lot of faith in his abilities as an all-rounder. This year, he needs to redeem his talent with some big shows.

    3) Kane Williamson (C)

The New Zealand skipper would be batting at the number 3 position to hold the innings closely and anchor the innings. Kane Williamson averages more than 40 in 63 IPL matches. Moreover, the player has been leading his national side in an exemplary manner in all ICC events since the 2019 ODI World Cup to be at least the runners up of the tournament.

    4) Aiden Markram

Aidan Markram would be batting at no.4 in Sunrisers Hyderabad predicted playing 11 line-ups. Aidan would provide the experience in the middle order which the team lacked in previous seasons. Moreover, he can also swing his arms for spin bowling in middle.

    5) Nicholas Pooran (WK)

The West Indian power hitter is a pre-requisite for every IPL team to pull off some miracle chase which the players from West Indies have done on numerous occasions. Nicholas Pooran would solve SRH chasing headache where they remained behind the required run rate since he holds a strike rate of 155.

    6) Abdul Samad

Undoubtedly, Abdul Samad would be a part of Sunrisers Hyderabad playing 11. The player was retained for his impressive strike rate above 145. He will bat down the order to strengthen and provide stability to the team in case of a collapse.

    7) Romario Shephard

Keep your eyes on this medium-fast bowling all-rounder in IPL 2022. With 7.75 crores in his pocket and no prior experience in IPL shows the faith IPL teams had in his skills. His pace bowling would be a prominent factor in Sunrisers Hyderabad playing 11.

    8) Washington Sundar

The former Bengaluru player can keep batters under the radar even in powerplay overs. His 6.97 economy depicts his talent as a spinner in this batting dominant format. SRH placed their 8.75crores precisely on his past performances.

    9) Bhuvneshwar Kumar

How could Hyderabad let their star performer go away so easily? A 4.2 crores deal for the Indian swing bowler’s experience would be an asset for young bowlers around him. The bowler has 142 wickets in his bag in 132 IPL matches.

    10) Umran Malik

How late you enter doesn’t matter but the impact matters. This defines the Jammu & Kashmir bowler, Umran Malik, who played in the later stage of the IPL and bowled the fastest delivery in IPL 2021. It was enough to fetch him a 4 crores retention value for IPL 2022

    11) T Natarajan

Sunrisers Hyderabad would hope that T Natrajan stays away from injury as his services can be invaluable with Umran and Bhuvi on the side. The left-arm fast bowler has 20 wickets in 24 IPL games which surely doesn’t depict his caliber and he has a lot more to offer from his bag.
