    Border Gavaskar Trophy is one of the greatest Test Series in the world of Cricket. The trophy was started in 1996 and is being played between India and Australia. The series is named after Australian legend Allan Border and Indian batting maestro Sunil Gavaskar, the two finest cricketers both the countries have ever produced.

    Here are some of the ‘Mind Blowing Facts’ about Border Gavaskar Trophy:

    1. Michael Clarke is the most successful captain in terms of winning ratio (62.5). Second comes MS Dhoni with a winning ratio of 61.53.

    2. Adam Gilchrist holds the record for most dismissals as a wicketkeeper (75 dismissals) followed by MS Dhoni with 71 dismissals.

    3. Anil Kumble has the most five-wicket hauls (10 in 20 Tests) followed by Harbhajan Singh with 7 five-wicket hauls.

    4. India holds the record for the highest team total (705/7) against Australia in 2004 at Sydney cricket ground. The 3rd, 4th and 5th position is also acquired by India (657/7 at Eden Gardens Test in 2001, 633/5 in 1998 and 613/7 at Delhi in 2008). 

    5. Sachin Tendulkar also holds the record for the most number of centuries in the Border Gavaskar trophy against Australia (9) followed by Ricky Ponting (8), Michael Clarke and Steve Smith (8).
