The ongoing tussle between the BCCI and PCB over the venue for Asia Cup 2023 has left many speculating about the future of cricketing ties between India and Pakistan.

    Shahid Afridi

While BCCI has made it clear that it will not visit Pakistan for the tournament, the PCB has stated that it won’t send the Pakistan national cricket team to the 2023 ODI World Cup in India.

In response to R Ashwin’s claim that Pakistan can’t boycott the World Cup, former Pakistan captain Shahid Afridi has urged the ICC to intervene and settle the matter. Afridi also dismissed Ashwin’s claim and asserted that India is taking such strong steps because it has made itself strong.

Afridi said that if India is willing to take such a strong stance, then it must have the courage to follow through, but the final decision rests with the ICC. The cricketing world waits with bated breath as the ICC attempts to resolve the matter.
