IPL 2023 is heating up with exciting matches lined up and the clash between Chennai Super Kings (CSK) and Gujarat Titans (GT) on March 31st at the Narendra Modi Stadium is going to be an exciting one. Aakash Chopra, the former Indian cricketer and cricket analyst, expressed his views on the match and was all praises for CSK’s latest signing, Sisanda Magala.
CSK, the four-time IPL champions, have been struggling with injuries and recently named Sisanda Magala as a replacement for injured Kyle Jamieson. Magala, who has been around the Proteas side for the last couple of years, has been a prolific wicket-taker in the SA20 league, taking 14 wickets for Eastern Sun Risers. Aakash Chopra likes the signing of Magala and believes he is the perfect replacement for Jamieson.
CSK’s batting lineup will be led by the exciting all-rounder Ben Stokes, while skipper MS Dhoni is likely to use Ravindra Jadeja in the middle order to maximize his potential as a batter against spinners. CSK’s bowling lineup is also impressive, with Deepak Chahar and Mukesh Choudhary leading with the new ball. Chopra also believes Dwaine Pretorius can play the role of Dwayne Bravo, who is now the bowling coach of CSK.

Chopra also addressed the question of why CSK chose Magala over Gerald Coetzee. According to him, Magala replaced Kyle Jamieson, whose base price was INR 50 lakh, and Coetzee’s base price was INR 5 crores. Therefore, replacing a 50 lakh player with a 5 crore player was not possible, and hence, CSK opted for Magala.
