There have been many changes in the Pakistan Cricket Board and the team for the last few months. Now PCB can also change the coaching staff of its team. The PCB is set to appoint former South African players Morne Morkel and Andrew Puttick as the bowling and batting coaches of the Pakistan men’s team respectively. The board have also agreed to bring in Mickey Arthur as a consultant, while he is currently serving as Derbyshire’s head coach.

Morkel will formally join the team after his IPL contract as the bowling coach of Lucknow Super Giants. He has previously been with Namibia’s coaching staff during the 2022 T20 World Cup in Australia and is currently the bowling coach of the Durban Super Giants in the SA20 League. He also worked with the New Zealand women’s team during the T20 World Cup in South Africa.
The 42-year-old Puttick will join the Pakistan team next month. His only international appearance was for South Africa in 2005 and since then he has worked with South Africa as a batting consultant. He recently worked with the South Africa women’s team in the T20 World Cup as the batting coach. He was previously the assistant coach during South Africa A’s 2019 tour of India and was involved with the emerging team. Overall, before the ODI World Cup, the Pakistan cricket team wants to include experienced people in its coaching staff, so that they can benefit from it during the mega tournament.
