The Mumbai Indians team, which has won the Indian Premier League (IPL) title five times, has started vigorous preparations for the sixth title before the start of IPL 2023. Captain Rohit Sharma did batting practice during the net session of the Mumbai team held on Friday. During this, Rohit faced English fast bowler Jofra Archer.
In the video posted on the official account of Mumbai Indians, Rohit Sharma can be seen facing the deadly bowling of Archer in the nets. It could be noticed that Archer is troubling Mumbai’s openers – Rohit Sharma and Ishan Kishan. This clip is surely going to send shivers down the spine of all the batters who would now face him through the course of the IPL season.
In the absence of the team’s star fast bowler Jasprit Bumrah, Mumbai Indians’ pace attack will depend on Archer, who will return to the Indian Premier League for the first time after the 2020 season.

In May and December 2021, the England fast bowler underwent two operations for an elbow injury, after which he had to stay out of international cricket for a long time. Due to rehab, Archer also missed playing last year’s T20 World Cup. He made his international return for England against South Africa.
On the other hand Mumbai captain Rohit Sharma’s last IPL season was very bad. Rohit scored only 268 runs in 14 matches at an average of 19.14. Rohit’s poor performance had an effect on the team as well. The team was at the tenth position on the points table. In such a situation, Rohit would like to improve his batting in the 16th season.
