Gujarat Titans won the opening match against Chennai Super Kings by 5 wickets. However, a big update has just arrived on MS Dhoni’s fitness.
Just a few days back a report claimed that MS Dhoni is feeling a slight discomfort in his left knee and that he may miss the opening game against Gujarat Titans on March 31. The report didn’t turn out to be accurate as MS Dhoni did play in the opening match and did batting and wicket keeping. But Dhoni was not looking comfortable while taking runs. He didn’t seem at his best. Now CSK coach Stephen Fleming has given a huge update on MS Dhoni’s fitness. Stephen Fleming has confirmed that MS Dhoni just had cramps and there wasn’t any knee issue.
Batting first, CSK set a target of 179 runs at the loss of 7 wickets. Batting second, GT took the match to the last over and won the thriller by 5 wickets. The highest run scorer of the match was Ruturaj Gaikwad who played a brilliant knock of 92 runs off 50 balls.
CSK will be playing their next match against LSG on April 3 at the M. A. Chidambaram Stadium.
