The fifth match of the Indian Premier League 2023 will take place on Sunday, April 2, at the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru between the Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) and the Mumbai Indians (MI). Royal Challengers won eight out of their 14 games last season, placing them in fourth place overall and securing their third consecutive postseason berth. At the mini-auction, which took place in December of last year, they made a few wise decisions. Reece Topley, an English speedster, cost them INR 1.9 crores, and Will Jacks cost them INR 3.2 crores. Jacks has been substituted by Michael Bracewell because he has been forced to withdraw from the competition due to a thigh injury. RCB defeated the Mumbai Indians once during the previous season.

Wanindu Hasaranga is not going to be available for today’s match due to the series between New Zealand and Sri Lanka, which means that Michael Bracewell can actually end up making his debut for Royal Challengers Bangalore in today’s match. The Kiwi all-rounder came into the limelight last year when he smashed Indian bowlers all around the park in an ODI game and almost single-handedly pulled off a great victory.
Michael Bracewell was signed as a replacement for Will Jacks by Royal Challengers Bangalore a few days back. He was surprisingly unsold at the IPL 2023 auction. Bracewell is a great all-rounder who can be an excellent asset for Faf in today’s match.
