Lucknow Super Giants struggled in the powerplay, but Kyle Mayers changed the game’s momentum with his attacking batting after the powerplay. Apart from Mayers, no other batsman could get going for LSG. Nicholas Pooran and Ayush Badoni played useful cameos, scoring quickfire 36 and 18 runs, respectively. Lucknow Super Giants ended their innings at 193/6 in 20 overs, setting a challenging target for Delhi Capitals to chase.

Delhi Capitals struggled to chase down the target as Mark Wood wreaked havoc on their batting line-up, taking an impressive five-wicket haul. He dismissed Prithvi Shaw, Mitchell Marsh, Sarfaraz Khan, Axar Patel, and Chetan Sakariya in the match. Despite David Warner’s 56 off 48, his innings was slow considering the required run rate.
