Chopra analyzed Kohli’s unbeaten 82 off 49 balls in the match against Mumbai and opined that it was reminiscent of the sublime form he displayed during the 2016 season. He added that Kohli’s exceptional form at the international level bodes well for his chances to perform well in the IPL too.

Virat Kohli has been one of the most consistent performers in the IPL, having scored over 400 runs in every season since 2015, except for the last year. In 2016, he also created history by scoring the highest number of runs by an individual in a single IPL season, a staggering 973 runs.

In the match against Mumbai, Kohli faced off against Jofra Archer, one of the most feared bowlers in the opposition’s ranks. The Indian skipper emerged victorious in the highly anticipated contest, hitting two fours and two sixes against the English speedster. Commentator Irfan Pathan hailed Kohli’s performance, comparing him to the legendary Sachin Tendulkar and saying that his victory over Archer was a victory for Indian cricket.
