IPL 2022, KKR VS RR: Pulsating thriller that Had it All

KKR vs RR, the 30th match of Tata IPL 2022, had it all from a hundred to hat-trick to 200 runs on the scoreboard.

Rajasthan Royals ultimately won the high-scoring thriller by 7 runs owing to a timely bowling miracle by Yuzvendra Chahal.

KKR vs RR Highlights:

Kolkata Knight Riders won the toss and elected to bowl first at Brabourne Stadium in Mumbai.

RR Inning:

Rajasthan Royals had a blockbuster start with Jos Buttler again firing on all cylinders in IPL 2022. Buttler and Padikkal had a handsome 97 run stand for the first wicket in just 9.4 overs.

Padikkal was bowled by Narine to put some breaks on Rajasthan’s inning. However, Sanju Samson kept the momentum going with Buttler to maintain the Royals’ assertion on the game.

Samson scored 38 off 19, including 3 fours and 2 sixes. The centurion, Jos Buttler, soon followed Samson in the dressing room after scoring 103 off 61, including 9 fours and 5 sixes.

Finally, It was Shimron Hetmyer’s turn to dismantle the KKR bowlers. He remained unbeaten on 26* off 13 to propel Rajasthan to 217/5 in 20 overs in KKR vs RR contest.

KKR Inning:

Sunil Narine was promoted up the order by KKR but did not get a chance to bat after a horrible mix-up with Finch found him short of his crease.

Nevertheless, Finch and Iyer constructed a 109 run stand for the 2nd wicket in just 9 overs. Finch displayed his best in the IPL with 58 off 28, including 9 fours and 2 sixes.

Iyer and Nitish Rana also had a good partnership of 41 runs for the 3rd wicket. But following Rana’s wicket, no batter could partner with their captain efficiently to take KKR home.

Iyer also perished at 85 off 51 to become the first victim in Yuzvendra Chahal’s hat-trick. Shivam Mavi and Pat Cummins were the other two victims of Yuzi Chahal.

Umesh Yadav tried to single-handedly snatch the match away from RR in the final 3 overs but ultimately could not get the job done. KKR’s inning wrapped up on 210, and Rajasthan Royals won in the KKR vs RR game.
