Cricket is a game of uncertainties. In the match between KKR and GT, Rinku Singh did a miracle by hitting 5 sixes off the last 5 balls of the last over, while in the next match, a miracle happened with the Lucknow Supergiants team, which surprised everyone. In the match, Lucknow needed only 5 runs to win in the last over. Lucknow had a chance to win the match but Harshal Patel, who came to bowl the last over, created a chance for Bangalore.

    Harshal failed to ‘Mankad’ Bishnoi

Before the last ball, there was a conversation between Faf and the bowler. After this Harshal went to bowl. Bishnoi was at the non-striker’s end, while Avesh Khan was at the striker’s end. In such a situation, Harshal showed cleverness and tried to Mankad Bishnoi, but in the first attempt, he missed the ball hitting the stumps, after which he tried to run out Bishnoi by throwing in the second attempt. The ball hit the stumps, but the appeal for out was rejected by the umpire.

    What does the rule say?

According to rule 38.3.1.2 of MCC, the rule-making body of cricket, if the batsman standing at the non-striker’s end has left the crease, that too when the bowler has completed his action, i.e. the bowler has reached the release point of throwing the ball, the bowler cannot run out the batsman standing at the non-striker’s end.
