MS Dhoni’s masterful captaincy in the Chennai Super Kings’ (CSK) game against the Mumbai Indians in the 14th match of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2023 did not go unnoticed. Former Indian head coach Ravi Shastri was all praise for the CSK skipper, lauding his use of spinners Ravindra Jadeja and Mitchell Santner.
The game was an incredible display of both bat and ball by the Dhoni-led outfit as they outclassed the Mumbai Indians by 7 wickets to register their second win of the season. The CSK bowlers, led by Jadeja and Santner, made life difficult for the Mumbai batters by taking wickets at regular intervals, ultimately restricting them to a total of 158 runs.

Dhoni’s tactical moves in the game were impressive, and his brilliant use of Jadeja and Santner was something to admire. He knew that these two could be useful on the pitch and showed great confidence in them. Shastri was amazed by Dhoni’s captaincy, praising him for his excellent use of the spin duo and his DRS call that made quite a difference in the game.

The Man of the Match award went to Ravindra Jadeja, who returned with figures of 3/20 and took an incredible catch off his own bowling to dismiss Cameron Green. Former Indian cricketer Harbhajan Singh hailed Jadeja as a superhero, praising him for his ability to turn the match in his team’s favor at any time with both the bat and the ball.
Chennai Super Kings will be looking to continue their winning momentum as they prepare to face off against the Rajasthan Royals at the Chepauk Stadium on Wednesday, April 12th.
