Jasprit Bumrah and Shreyas Iyer injury update.

The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has recently given medical updates on Indian pacer Jasprit Bumrah and batsman Shreyas Iyer.

In an official statement, BCCI said that Bumrah has started his rehab at the National Cricket Academy in Bengaluru.

“Jasprit Bumrah underwent surgery in New Zealand on his lower back, which was successful and he remains pain-free. The fast bowler was advised by the specialist to start his rehab six weeks after the surgery and accordingly, Bumrah has commenced his rehab management at the National Cricket Academy (NCA) in Bengaluru from Friday,” the BCCI said in a statement.

While sharing an update on Shreyas Iyer, BCCI said that he will go through his lower back surgery next week and he will start his rehab in the next two weeks.

Both Jasprit Bumrah and Shreyas Iyer will be missing the World Test Championship (WTC) Final 2023 which is to be played in England between India and Australia.

Bumrah is in a race against time to regain fitness for the ODI World Cup, scheduled to take place in India in October-November this year. Iyer, on the other hand, will probably be fit for the World Cup.
