The Royal Challengers Bangalore is in a brilliant form in IPL 2023. RCB, which has been led by Virat Kohli for the last 2 matches, has won 4 out of the 7 games they have played so far.
RCB defeated RR in a close encounter on April 23. Batting first, RCB set a big target of 190 runs on the back of blistering knocks of 62 and 77 runs from Faf du Plessis and Glenn Maxwell respectively. While Chasing, Devdutt Padikkal and Yashasvi Jaiswal played brilliant innings of 52 and 47 runs respectively to come close to the target, but unfortunately, lost the match by 7 runs.
In the post match presentation, captain Kohli dropped a big hint on Josh Hazlewood’s much-awaited return from injury while praising Mohammad Siraj who is leading RCB’s pace attack.
“Phenomenal, he’s got him (Jos Buttler) out in the past and he’s bowling as well as I’ve ever seen. Running in with the new ball he shows that intent and the confidence, he has the Purple Cap and for good reason. He’s leading the attack and hopefully Josh comes in next game,” revealed Kohli in the post-match presentation ceremony.
Hazlewood has joined the RCB camp however, after a prolonged injury, the Bengaluru-based franchise doesn’t want to rush him back and cause a relapse that’s why they’re being patient with the star pacer.
RCB will be playing their next match against KKR on April 26.
