Former Indian cricketer Harbhajan Singh has expressed his admiration for Sunrisers Hyderabad’s young left-handed batter Abhishek Sharma, suggesting that he should be groomed as the future captain of the team. Speaking on Star Sports’ Cricket Live, Harbhajan Singh called Sharma a “proper batsman” and highlighted his ability to open the innings and his skill against spinners. He also suggested that the SRH team management should start preparing for the future with Sharma and look at him as a potential captain of the side.
Sharma has been in fine form in the current IPL season and has impressed with his consistent batting. Former India cricketer Yusuf Pathan also praised the youngster and predicted a bright future for him. Pathan said on the same show, “Abhishek Sharma has a bright future ahead of him. He’s played some brilliant shots in the tournament. He’s good against spinners, I think he’s going to play for the national side as well.”
