Yuzvendra Chahal Overtakes Dwayne Bravo to Become the Leading Wicket-taker in IPL History with 184 Wickets to his Name

Yuzvendra Chahal's all-important wicket of Nitish Rana in the match against Kolkata Knight Riders made him the all-time highest wicket-taker in the IPL, surpassing the legendary Dwayne Bravo.

In a spectacular display of his skills, Yuzvendra Chahal, the superstar spinner for Rajasthan Royals (RR), created history during the 16th edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL) on Thursday. During RR’s away game against Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) at the Eden Gardens, Chahal claimed the critical wicket of Nitish Rana, surpassing the legendary all-rounder Dwayne Bravo to become the all-time leading wicket-taker in the IPL.

Yuzvendra Chahal is considered one of the finest bowlers in the IPL’s history, and his remarkable feat shattered Bravo’s record during the 56th match of the prestigious tournament. Prior to the KKR match, Chahal had picked up a four-wicket haul against Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) to equal Bravo’s record at the Sawai Mansingh Stadium. In the ongoing match against KKR, Chahal continued his excellent form by removing their skipper, Rana, to overtake Bravo on the wicket-takers leaderboard.

The 11th over of the match saw Chahal being brought into the attack by RR’s skipper Sanju Samson, and in his very first over, he claimed the crucial wicket of Rana, achieving a massive milestone in the IPL. With 184 wickets to his name, Chahal now holds the record for the all-time leading wicket-taker in the IPL, followed by Dwayne Bravo, who bagged 183 wickets.

Chahal’s achievement is particularly noteworthy, given that he is ahead of veteran bowlers like Piyush Chawla, Amit Mishra, and Ravichandran Ashwin on the exclusive list. The spinner’s performance in the 2023 edition of the IPL has been exceptional, with the right-arm leg-spinner already taking 21 wickets. His contribution to the RR team has been instrumental in their campaign for the IPL trophy.

Chahal

Yuzvendra Chahal’s record-breaking feat has given the Rajasthan Royals a much-needed boost as they look to win their second IPL title. With the IPL reaching its business end, fans are eagerly awaiting more exceptional performances from the spinner, who has shown that he is one of the best in the game.
