Sunrisers Hyderabad and Lucknow Super Giants are playing the 58th match of Tata IPL 2023 at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium in Hyderabad. SRH has posted 182 runs on the board after batting first in the game. They recovered well after being 5 down at one stage inside the 13 overs.
Heinrich Klaasen played a quickfire knock of 47 while Abdul Samad remained unbeaten on 37. However, in the 19th over of the match a controversy erupted after a no ball review was turned down by the third umpire. The Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium crowd thought that the ball bowled by Avesh Khan was a clear no ball.
The third umpire did not seem interested to call the ball a no-ball and this resulted in a huge mayhem. The crowd went berserk and started throwing nuts and boults at the LSG dugout. The game had to be stopped for a while and the players and the on-field umpires had to intervene to get the game resumed.
The question is that how the crowd managed to get objects like nuts and boults in the stadium. The security issues are under the scanner at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium after today’s ruckus.
