Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) head coach Brian Lara expressed his disappointment with the team’s performance in the ongoing Indian Premier League (IPL) and stated that they should have been at a higher place on the points table if they had won a few close games.

    Sunrisers Hyderabad

In their most recent match against the Lucknow Super Giants, the SRH suffered a 7-wicket loss despite scoring 182 runs for the loss of six wickets. Lara believes that they could have won the game if they had closed it off in the final strides, as they were ahead during the game.

The former West Indies skipper urged the team to stay motivated and win the last three games, as it could potentially land them a spot in the playoffs. “It’s not over, and I would hate to see heads drop and attitudes drop. I would like to keep it as upbeat as possible and see if we can get wins in the remaining games,” he said.

The SRH had lost a few matches from a winning position this season, and Lara acknowledged that it did not work out for them. He praised Lucknow’s batters for their excellent performance, and believed that the one over of spin they bowled changed the momentum of the match. However, he also stated that sometimes these things happen and it’s a part of the game.

Despite being in the 9th place on the 10-team points table, the SRH is not out of contention yet, and Lara wants to keep the team’s morale high and motivate them to win the remaining games.

The SRH has a strong squad, and Lara believes that they can turn their fortunes around in the upcoming matches. With the right mindset and strategy, the team can still make it to the playoffs and potentially even win the IPL title.

Overall, Lara’s message to the SRH is to stay positive and focused, and to not let their heads drop despite the setbacks they’ve faced in the IPL so far. By keeping their spirits high and giving their best efforts in the remaining games, they can still turn this season around and achieve success.
