James Anderson will most likely retire after the Ashes 2023

The veteran English pacer James Anderson is the most successful fast bowler in the history of Test cricket. The 40 year old Anderson has showed no signs of stopping till now in Test cricket. Year after year he turns up and delivers for the English team in the longest format of the game.

However, the age factor is definitely catching up with James Anderson. In the past couple of years his pace has dropped a bit. But the accuracy and swing skills of this legendary bowler are still top notch.

Anderson recently suffered a groin injury in the Country cricket while playing for Lancashire County Cricket Club. He then did not took part in that match.

However, ECB has confirmed that Anderson is completely fit and it was just a minor groin strain. The 40 year old is included in the Test squad against for one off Test against Ireland.

According to the latest reports, James Anderson is expected to retire after the Ashes 2023 as he has achieved almost everything there is to achieve in Test cricket and the age factor is catching up with him. ECB is giving him the last opportunity to showcase his skills at the biggest level.
