The 2023 Men’s World Cup will kick off on October 5 in Ahmedabad with a match between England and New Zealand – a team-and-venue repeat of the 1996 edition.

India’s first match will be against Australia in Chennai. They will play archrival Pakistan in Ahmedabad on October 15, which will also host the final on November 19.

According to the same report, Pakistan has finally confirmed their participation in the World Cup. Except for the India match, they will play their remaining league games in Chennai, Hyderabad, and Bengaluru.

The remaining eight ICC World Cup 2023 venues are Delhi, Dharamsala, Guwahati, Indore, Kolkata, Mumbai, Rajkot, and Raipur. One of the two semi-finals could be played in Mumbai.

This year’s World Cup will feature ten teams. India qualified directly as the hosts, as did Afghanistan, Australia, England, Bangladesh, New Zealand, Pakistan, and South Africa via the 2020-2023 ICC Cricket World Cup Super League.

Two more teams will qualify for the World Cup through the World Cup Qualifiers, which will be held in Zimbabwe in June and July. The Qualifiers will also feature Ireland, Nepal, the Netherlands, Oman, Scotland, the UAE, the United States, and hosts Zimbabwe, in addition to former champions Sri Lanka and the West Indies.
