WTC Final 2023: It Should be at Least Three Match Series- Says Famous Australian Opener

David Warner wants the WTC Final to be a three match series

David Warner wants the World Test Championship (WTC) final to be a three-Test series rather than a one-off game.

Australia will face India at The Oval on June 7, the first step in a six-month period in which they will compete for the Test title, the Ashes, and the ODI World Cup. Warner has played in and won World Cup finals before, but he is looking forward to his first five-day title.

“I think it’s fantastic,” he said before heading to Beckenham for a training session. “I have been – I won’t say critical – but I believe it should be a three-game series with only Test cricket.” You play two years of good cricket, then you play against an opposition on a neutral venue. We’ve all played here before, but not against the same [host] country.

“It’s a great reward for the two best teams. Two world-class bowling attacks bowling with a Dukes ball on foreign land. It’s great and we’re excited for that.”
