The Indians are taking Mitchell Starc’s threat very seriously, and based on their second training session at The Oval ahead of the World Test Championship final, they still haven’t decided between Ishan Kishan and KS Bharat as their wicket-keeping option.
Australia trained in cold and overcast conditions in the morning, but the Indians brought sunshine to The Oval in the afternoon. The first to get a hit were Cheteshwar Pujara, Ajinkya Rahane, Shubman Gill, and Mohammed Shami. Shami batted for more than 30 minutes, demonstrating how serious he is about his batting.
Virat Kohli faced spinners before moving to the opposite net to face Shami and Unadkat. Following that, he got some crucial catching practice in the slips with Rahane and Gill.
Delhi’s office Pulkit Narang, one of the side’s net bowlers, bowled a long spell, with batters using him in the tougher battles against Nathan Lyon.
India must choose between two spinners and a fourth pace option, and this decision cannot be made two days before the game. Ravindra Jadeja bowled, while Ashwin only batted.
