Former Indian cricketer Aakash Chopra has expressed concerns about the format of the World Test Championship Final, advocating for a three-match series instead of a single match. As India takes on Australia in the WTC Final at the Kennington Oval, Chopra took to Twitter to share his views.

If you can’t accommodate three-tests, why bother with the finals at all? The team that has topped the table over 2-years should be given the mace…as it used to be the case earlier. In any case, there’s no uniformity in terms of how many Tests each series should have. 2/2

Chopra highlighted the limited time allocated to the Test format, despite its reputation as the pinnacle of cricket. He proposed that if a three-match series cannot be accommodated for the final, then there should be no final at all. He argued that declaring the team that finishes at the top of the table after the two-year cycle as the champion, as done in the past, would be a more suitable approach.
