    Cricket is the 2nd most loved sport in the world after Football and its popularity is increasing at a good pace all around the world. Cricket action is now easily available on many streaming platforms, however, if someone misses the action, they can easily get updates through cricket news.

    3 slowest hundreds in 50 over world cups

    The game consists of 3 formats, Test, ODI, and T20I. The test format consists of unlimited overs but the match lasts long till 5 days. While ODI consists of 50 overs each for both teams while in T20I, teams get to play 20 overs each. Meanwhile, we will take a look at the 3 slowest hundreds in the history of the 50-over World Cup.

    1. 157 balls – Ramiz Raza vs West Indies in 1992

    Pakistan were the winner of the 1992 World Cup, however, their match against West Indies garnered a lot of attention where they suffered an embarrassing loss by 10 wickets. Asked to bat first, Pakistan scored 220 runs after the loss of just 2 wickets. Former Pakistan batter Ramiz Raja scored a century but that came off 157 deliveries due to which he was blamed for a small total. West Indies achieved the target without losing any wickets.

    2. 153 balls – Gordon Greenidge vs India in 1979

    The 1st match of the 1979 World Cup was played between India and West Indies at Birmingham on June 9. Asked to bat first, India manage to score only 190 runs in 60 overs. West Indies were given a small target to chase and opener Gordon Greenidge showed no hurry and smashed a century off 153 balls and took his team to victory with 9 wickets in hand. He was also unbeaten on the score of 106 runs in which 9 fours and 1 six were included.

    3. 152 balls – Scott Styris vs Sri Lanka in 2007

    New Zealand and Sri Lanka clashed against each other in the 39th match of the 2007 ODI World Cup. The Blackcaps opted to bat first after winning the toss but all the batters failed miserably except allrounder Scott Styris who smashed a century off 152 balls when all the batters were struggling from the other end. With the help of his century, the Kiwis managed to cross the 200-run mark. However, that wasn’t enough as they lost the match by 6 wickets.
