ICC ODI World Cup 2023: Schedule to be Announced on 27th June

One of the reasons for the delay in the schedule announcement is Pakistan's disagreement with playing at certain venues. Pakistan requested to swap venues for their matches against Australia and Afghanistan, but this was denied by the ICC and BCCI.

The final schedule for the 2023 ODI World Cup in India is yet to be announced, but recent reports suggest that the announcement will be made on June 27 during an event in Mumbai.

The International Cricket Council (ICC) and the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) are finalizing the details, including the dates, fixtures, and venues for the tournament.

So far, eight of the ten teams have been confirmed, including India, Pakistan, Bangladesh, Afghanistan, England, Australia, New Zealand, and South Africa. The remaining two spots are being contested in the World Cup Qualifiers in Zimbabwe.

Additionally, the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) expressed reservations about playing India in a highly anticipated match at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad, but this request was also denied by the BCCI.

The tournament will follow a round-robin format, similar to the previous edition in 2019, with all teams playing against each other to determine the top four teams who will compete in the semi-finals.

The final will take place in Ahmedabad, while the semi-finals could be hosted at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai and either the Eden Gardens in Kolkata or the Chepauk Stadium in Chennai.
