According to news reports, the International Cricket Council (ICC) is anticipated to reveal the schedule for the ICC ODI World Cup 2023 today at an event in Mumbai. However, there is uncertainty regarding the authenticity of the invite as it has been shared on social media by users without independent verification. It is worth noting that the schedules for the previous two editions of the tournament were determined more than a year in advance.

As per sources cited by Press Trust of India, the draft schedule proposed by the BCI states that the ICC ODI World Cup 2023 will commence on October 5. The opening match is expected to be held in Ahmedabad, where reigning champions England will face New Zealand. Despite the tournament being just over three months away, there has been a delay in announcing the official schedule.

The tournament will feature a total of 10 teams, with eight of them already determined, and the remaining two teams set to qualify through the qualifiers to participate in the main event.

According to the draft schedule provided by the BCCI, the city of Ahmedabad has been chosen as the venue for the final of the ICC ODI World Cup 2023, which is scheduled to take place on November 19. India’s opening match in the tournament will be against Australia in Chennai on October 8. Additionally, Ahmedabad will also host India’s match against Pakistan on October 15, one week after their first match.
