The inaugural season of the Zim Afro League will feature five franchises: Harare Hurricanes, Bulawayo Braves, Cape Town Samp Army, Durban Qalandars, and Joburg Buffaloes. These teams will compete against each other to claim the championship title.

Recently, a draft was conducted to determine the player line-ups for the tournament. Four Indian players, namely Stuart Binny, Sreesanth, Irfan Pathan, and Parthiv Patel, secured contracts with the franchises.

Prior to the draft, Yusuf Pathan and Robin Uthappa had already signed with their respective teams in the Zim Afro T10 League. The league’s first season is scheduled to take place from July 20 to 29, with all matches being held in Harare. Cricket enthusiasts eagerly await the action-packed matches and are eager to see which team will emerge as the victor in the inaugural season.

The Bulawayo Braves and Cape Town Samp Army share owners with the Abu Dhabi T10 League’s Chennai Braves and Morrisville Samp Army, respectively. The team owners for the Joburg Buffaloes are yet to be revealed.
