Gathering at the Modern High School in Kolkata, Jhulan Goswami engaged with the students and shared her thoughts on India’s prospects in the World Cup. The last time India clinched the prestigious title was in 2011, when they co-hosted the event.

“Winning the ODI World Cup is the ultimate goal for a cricketer. It’s like a dream come true. Just like the Olympics is the pinnacle for an athlete, the ODI World Cup holds the same significance for a cricketer, as it comes once every four years. I still remember the excitement when Dhoni hit that six, and we won the trophy after 28 years. I hope the Indian team will lift the trophy again on November 19 in Ahmedabad,” shared the former Indian pacer, addressing a large crowd (as quoted by PTI).

“Please continue supporting our heroes this time as well. Winning and losing are integral to the game, but our heroes will forever hold a special place in our hearts. So, let’s support them and stand by them,” she added.

The World Cup Trophy tour provides fans with an opportunity to witness the trophy up close and gain insights into its construction. The tour commenced on June 27 and will traverse several countries, including Kuwait, Bahrain, Malaysia, the United States, Nigeria, Uganda, France, Italy, and the host country, India.
