Sachin Tendulkar Hails England’s Remarkable Ashes Comeback

Former Indian cricketer Sachin Tendulkar praises England's resilience as they bounce back from a 2-0 deficit to draw the thrilling Ashes 2023 series.

England’s Ashes 2023 campaign started on a challenging note as they found themselves trailing 0-2 after the first two Test matches, seemingly heading towards a disappointing defeat. However, the Ben Stokes-led team showcased remarkable tenacity, staging a sensational comeback to draw the series 2-2. Former Indian cricketer Sachin Tendulkar lauded their performance.

“From being 2-0 down to leveling the series, England’s resilience in this #Ashes series is a tribute to the beauty of Test cricket. Their ability to bounce back showcases the depth of character and mental fortitude demanded by this format. Despite Mother Nature denying us a decisive result, the spirit of this incredible game remains undiminished. This will be a series to remember for a long, long time,” Tendulkar wrote.

On Day 5, Australia had all 10 wickets intact, and their opening pair of Usman Khawaja and David Warner had built a solid partnership of over 100 runs. However, England didn’t give up and managed to take all the wickets, securing a remarkable 49-run victory.

Chris Woakes and Moeen Ali emerged as the bowling heroes, with Woakes taking 4 wickets and Ali claiming 3. Throughout the match, England posted scores of 283 and 395, while Australia managed 295 and 334, making it a thrilling and closely contested battle.
