After a low score in the 2nd ODI, Sanju Samson made a remarkable comeback in the 3rd ODI, scoring 51 runs off 41 balls. His knock included 4 sixes and 2 boundaries, with a strike rate of over 124.

Speaking on Jio Cinema, Saba Karim hailed Sanju Samson for his brilliant innings. He expressed his admiration for Samson’s batting skills and described him as an enigma.

“Sanju Samson is an enigma for me. He bats so well. He is a gifted player. Today, his innings was like a breath of fresh air. He said that his intent was to go out and be aggressive. The way he handled the leg-spinner, who was looking quite good at that point in time, was so refreshing to watch. This is what Samson is capable of,” said the 55-year-old.

Karim also noted that Samson has not had many opportunities in the past and has only been selected when regular players were unavailable. He praised Samson’s versatility in batting positions, making him an asset to the team.

“Sanju Samson has not had a series of chances. He has got in only when your regular players have been rested. It hasn’t been an easy journey so far. But the fact remains that Sanju is still raring to go. You send him at No.3, he is more than happy. You send him at No.4, he scores a fifty. You send him down the order, and he is always there as a perfect team man. This is a just reward for Samson’s persistence to be in the reckoning in the ODI squad,” Saba Karim added.

Sanju Samson was sent in at the No.3 position in the 2nd ODI but couldn’t score many runs. However, in the 3rd ODI, he returned to his regular No.4 spot and scored a brilliant half-century.
