On August 3, the India National Cricket Team joined arch-rivals Pakistan National Cricket Team in an elite list, marking their historic 200th appearance in T20I cricket.
Under the leadership of Hardik Pandya, the Men in Blue played their 200th match in the shortest format of the game. India’s journey in T20I cricket began back in 2006 under the captaincy of Virender Sehwag. Subsequently, MS Dhoni led the side in their 50th T20I game in 2014, while Virat Kohli captained in the 100th and 150th T20Is in 2018 and 2021, respectively.
At the Brian Lara Stadium, Tarouba, Trinidad, Hardik Pandya & Co. aimed to make the occasion memorable by securing a victory against the West Indies National Cricket Team, led by Rovman Powell.

Among the 199 T20Is India has played so far, they have emerged victorious in 127 matches and suffered defeats in 63 games. Additionally, they have been involved in four tied matches and five games that ended without a result.
Pakistan National Cricket Team currently holds the record for playing and winning the most number of T20Is. They have participated in 223 matches, clinching victory in 134 encounters and experiencing defeat in 80 games.
In the list of most T20Is, India and Pakistan are followed by New Zealand (193), Sri Lanka, and West Indies (179 each), Australia (174), England (173), South Africa (168), and Bangladesh and Ireland (152 each).
Rohit Sharma leads the list for most T20Is played for India, featuring in 148 of the team’s 199 games, followed by Virat Kohli with 115 appearances. On the list of run-getters in T20Is for India, Virat Kohli holds the top spot with 4008 runs, while Rohit Sharma closely follows with 3853 runs.
In the T20I format, Rohit Sharma holds the record for the most centuries (4), while Virat Kohli boasts the most half-centuries (37). Additionally, Rohit has struck the most sixes (182), and Kohli has smashed the most fours (356). Regarding bowling, Yuzvendra Chahal leads India’s wicket-takers in T20Is with 91 wickets, followed by Bhuvneshwar Kumar with 90 wickets.
