Team India’s talented pacer, Prasidh Krishna has been candid about the challenges he faced during his prolonged recovery from a stress fracture injury. Although injuries are an inevitable part of a fast bowler’s life, Prasidh expressed his frustration over the slow healing process.
Selected for India’s upcoming three-match T20I series against Ireland, the right-arm bowler is eager to make a comeback after a considerable period on the sidelines. Prasidh Krishna’s last appearance for the Indian team was during the tour of Zimbabwe in August last year, after which he was unfortunately ruled out of the IPL 2023 season.
Recalling the trying times during his injury hiatus, Prasidh Krishna acknowledged the support he received from his family and friends, which helped him stay positive and focused. The pacer emphasized that coming back to cricket is a significant milestone, and he is grateful for the opportunity to be back in action.
Facing the reality of undergoing surgery, Prasidh Krishna decided to take one step at a time and concentrate on the basics during his recovery process. He expressed satisfaction with his decision to opt for surgery and praised the National Cricket Academy (NCA) for crafting a well-structured recovery program. The program involved gradual increments in workload, including strength training, skill development, and running sessions.

Currently recovering at the NCA, the 27-year-old has been declared fit for his national team comeback. Prasidh Krishna was a regular part of India’s ODI setup before his injury, and he is eager to reclaim his spot in the playing XI.
In a positive update, Prasidh Krishna highlighted that he felt great when he finally started bowling again. The well-planned recovery program has allowed him to regain confidence in his abilities and return to the cricketing fray with renewed enthusiasm.
While Prasidh Krishna prepares for his comeback, the second-string Indian team will be led by the ace pacer Jasprit Bumrah during the T20I series against Ireland. The series is scheduled to take place from August 18 to 23 in Dublin.
