The Men’s ODI World Cup 2023 will kick off in Ahmedabad on October 5, with defending champion England facing 2019 runner-up New Zealand. South Africa will start its campaign in Delhi on October 7, as per the schedule released by the International Cricket Council (ICC) on June 27, 2023. The tournament will feature 10 teams competing for the prestigious title.
During the tournament, the South African team will demonstrate their skills at eight different venues across India, including Delhi, Lucknow, Dharamsala, Mumbai, Chennai, Pune, Kolkata, and Ahmedabad. This diverse selection of venues allows cricket enthusiasts from various regions to witness South Africa’s performances firsthand and adds to the excitement of the event.
The 13th edition of the One-Day World Cup will be India’s first time hosting the event independently, following its previous co-hosting roles in 1987, 1996, and 2011. This marks the fourth occasion overall that India will be hosting the prestigious tournament.
