KL Rahul’s last competitive appearance dates back to May 1 when he suffered a thigh injury during a match between Lucknow Super Giants and Royal Challengers Bangalore in IPL 2023. Following surgery in London, he embarked on rehabilitation at the National Cricket Academy in Bengaluru.

In recent times, KL Rahul shared a positive update on his fitness, showcasing his ease while batting and keeping wickets in a video shared on his social media platforms. However, the BCCI is yet to provide a final update on his fitness and availability.

According to a news sports agency, clarity on KL Rahul’s availability is expected to emerge by the weekend or early next week. This anticipation aligns with his participation in a practice game in Bengaluru. The report suggests that KL Rahul might need to participate in a couple of matches before a conclusive decision is made regarding his re-entry into international cricket.

The report also indicates that KL Rahul’s fitness is still not at full capacity, and the National Cricket Academy has not yet granted approval to the BCCI and the selection panel regarding his readiness. However, his situation is expected to improve by the time of the selection panel’s meeting.
