The England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) and captain Jos Buttler are planning to approach Ben Stokes for the upcoming ICC World Cup 2023. White-ball coach Matthew Mott is eager to include Stokes as a specialist batter, even if he doesn’t bowl.
Stokes retired from ODI cricket in 2022 due to the strain of playing all formats, but his performance in previous World Cups is making England keen to have him. Head coach Matthew Mott mentioned that Jos Buttler will lead the communication with Stokes regarding his participation.
