Scheduled from August 30 to September 17, the 2023 Asia Cup is scheduled to occur in both Sri Lanka and Pakistan. After a significant delay, the timetable and locations for this regional championship were eventually verified last month. As a result of India’s choice to avoid playing in Pakistan, the matches will be divided between the two nations. Pakistan will oversee four matches, whereas Sri Lanka will manage nine matches at four different venues: Multan, Pallekele, Lahore, and Colombo. The competition comprises six teams participating in the one-day format.
In addition to Pakistan and Sri Lanka as the host nations, the lineup of participating teams encompasses India, Afghanistan, Bangladesh, and Nepal. These teams have been divided into two sets of three. Group A is composed of India, Pakistan, and Nepal, while Group B comprises Sri Lanka, Afghanistan, and Bangladesh. During the initial phase, the top two teams from each group will advance to the Super Fours stage. The final championship match is set for September 17 at the R Premadasa Stadium, where the top two teams from the second round will compete for the title.
