India Asia Cup Squad Announcement Date Revealed- Know Now

While Jasprit Bumrah is confirmed to be fit, there have been concerns about the fitness of KL Rahul and Shreyas Iyer.

The anticipation builds for the India Asia Cup 2023 Squad, as other teams reveal their lineups. India’s team has been waiting for fitness updates on key players, but there’s positive news with KL Rahul and Shreyas Iyer’s anticipated return from their lengthy injuries. The squad is slated for release by August 20 (Sunday).

However, Sanju Samson’s chances are slim as the team might not include a third keeper. Ishan Kishan seems set for the second keeper position, and discussions will likely revolve around Tilak Varma. The upcoming squad offers a glimpse of what to expect in the World Cup 2023.

Contrary to the usual 15-member squad, the BCCI Selection Committee led by Ajit Agarkar will announce an extended 18-member lineup. This larger squad will be eventually reduced to 15 players for the World Cup 2023 post the Asia Cup.

While Jasprit Bumrah is confirmed to be fit, there have been concerns about the fitness of KL Rahul and Shreyas Iyer. Both these middle-order batsmen play pivotal roles in India’s strategies. KL Rahul might take on the dual responsibilities of wicketkeeping and batting, while Shreyas Iyer is set as the designated number 4 batter.

Encouragingly, both players have participated in match simulations at the National Cricket Academy (NCA), suggesting positive developments on the horizon. India’s head coach, Rahul Dravid, has already implied that he’s been anticipating an injury update on the talented pair.
