The 2023 Asia Cup is set to take place in a hybrid format across Sri Lanka and Pakistan, spanning from August 30 to September 17. Originally slated to be held in Pakistan, the hosting was adjusted due to India’s refusal to play in Pakistan.
Under the new plan, Pakistan will host four matches, while the rest, including the final, will occur in Sri Lanka. The tournament will include teams such as India, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, Afghanistan, and Nepal. This event is considered valuable preparation for the upcoming World Cup in India during October-November.
Group A of the 2023 Asia Cup consists of India, Pakistan, and Nepal, while Group B includes Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, and Afghanistan. The tournament will begin with a match between Pakistan and Nepal in Multan.
The Super Fours stage will feature the top two teams from each group, and the ultimate match of the competition will take place at Colombo’s R. Premadasa Stadium.
