The 16th edition of the Asia Cup is scheduled to occur from August 30 to September 17, jointly hosted by Pakistan and Sri Lanka due to its postponement in 2021 amid the COVID-19 pandemic.

This edition marks the first time the tournament will feature a multi-country format. Among the thirteen matches, Pakistan will host four while the remaining nine will take place in Sri Lanka.

The tournament’s opening match at Multan Cricket Stadium on August 30 will feature Pakistan against Nepal. A highly anticipated clash between traditional rivals India and Pakistan is slated for September 2 in Kandy. The tournament’s participating teams include India, Pakistan, and debutant Nepal.
