“India will win Asia Cup but not World Cup,” Says Former Indian Cricketer

Team India has a tight schedule ahead with the Asia Cup in five days, followed by the World Cup in 41 days, with only 18 days in between for sorting out their squad and Playing XI.

The squad for the Asia Cup is expected to resemble the World Cup team, and their performance in the Asia Cup will be crucial. Despite being the most successful team in Asia Cup history, India didn’t reach the final last year.

This time, with players like Bumrah, Rahul, and Iyer back in the mix, the team looks more balanced. Madan Lal, a former India all-rounder, is confident about India’s Asia Cup win but less so about the World Cup due to tough competition from teams like Australia, New Zealand, Pakistan, and South Africa.

He acknowledges the advantage of playing at home but also the pressure it brings. Lal believes the return of Rahul and Shreyas is positive despite their lack of match practice. However, he thinks playing a few games would have boosted their confidence and reassured their fitness.
