The Asia Cup 2023, the 14th edition of the One Day Internationals (ODIs) tournament organized by the Asian Cricket Council (ACC), commenced on August 30, 2023, and will conclude on September 17, 2023.
Six formidable cricketing nations, including India, Bangladesh, Afghanistan, Pakistan, Nepal, and the reigning champions Sri Lanka, are competing for a coveted spot in the final showdown. A total of 13 thrilling matches are set to be played, featuring a straightforward format. Four out of the six teams will advance to the Super 4s, where the top two contenders will battle for the championship.
The pathway to the Super 4s and the grand finale hinges on the accumulation of points throughout the tournament. The teams are divided into two groups: Group A comprises India, Pakistan, and Nepal, while Group B consists of Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, and Afghanistan. Each team earns 2 points for a victory and receives zero in the event of a loss. In case of a tie, both teams will be awarded 1 point each. The points table will also factor in the net run-rate as a tiebreaker when teams are level on points.
