India’s two group-stage matches in the ongoing Asia Cup have been affected by rain. Their first game against Pakistan in Pallekele was abandoned after the first innings, and their second match against Nepal was also threatened by rain but eventually had a 23-over second innings.

As India moves to Colombo for the Super Fours stage, their upcoming clash with Pakistan on September 10 may once again face rain-related interruptions. Here’s a summary of the weather forecast for the India-Pakistan Super Fours match:

Colombo has experienced heavy rainfall over the past week, with some areas facing flooding. Although there have been discussions about relocating Asia Cup matches from Colombo to Hambantota, as of now, the schedule remains unchanged.

According to AccuWeather, there is a 75 percent chance of rain, with late-day thunderstorms. Rain probability increases to over 95 percent at night.

BBC Weather also anticipates a wet day in Colombo on September 10, with temperatures ranging between 25 and 29 degrees Celsius. Thunderstorms are predicted with a rain likelihood of 30-50 percent.

Weather.com provides a similarly foreboding forecast to AccuWeather, with a 90 percent chance of rain on that day.

In contrast, Hambantota, the suggested alternate venue for the Colombo leg of the Asia Cup, has a relatively better outlook for September 10. AccuWeather and weather.com both predict a 40 percent chance of rain with scattered thunderstorms, expected to be milder compared to those anticipated in Colombo.
